Crisel Consunji

Award-winning actress Crisel Consunji is a woman of many talents. More recently remembered for her HKFA-acclaimed portrayal in the film “Still Human,” Crisel is an accomplished musical theatre professional as well as an early childhood educator. Having grown up in Manila’s theatre scene from a young age, Crisel moved to Hong Kong in 2008 to work as a vocalist for Hong Kong Disneyland.

She has since established herself as a voice in early childhood education, championing arts-based learning for young children. The arts education initiative she founded, Baumhaus, is a well-loved creative space for families, and provides support for commercial and community programmes alike. She leads the distribution and training for the US-based Kindermusik programme, which empowers families to raise their children with a love for music.

Crisel holds an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education, as well as an M.A. in Global Politics. She is currently engaged in community-based organisations that promote youth empowerment, children’s welfare and family support. She advocates for more equitable societies through capacity building, opening opportunities for less-advantaged youth, and the support of talent-based initiatives.

Rae Latumbo

Growing up in a family of musicians, Rae was exposed to different genres at an early age. Although she is often heard singing jazz songs, alternative rock is her go-to genre.

Interestingly enough, Teacher Rae’s first foray into teaching wasn't through music but in children’s cooking classes. Starting as an Assistant Teacher in a Cooking Department with children ages 18 months up to 6 years old, she realised she had a passion for connecting with children. When she was introduced to Kindermusik, she knew that it was “the job” for her.

Rae has been a part of the Baumhaus team since 2018, and since then has openly expressed how grateful she is to be surrounded by an empowering team. Having now completed several workshops in Family Education and early childhood methodologies-- including the Parent Effectiveness Training method-- Rae feels even more ready to give valuable support and joy to the families at Baumhaus.

Music has always been her gateway to express how she feels and it helped her overcome different situations growing up. She believes that through music, children can find their identity and develop life-long skills.

Jobelle Ubalde

You may recognise Teacher Jobelle's singing voice as the Cantonese Dubbed singer for Disney's THE LION KING (Live Action) and FROZEN's iconic song, "Let It Go". Through her performances, she was able to witness how music and singing can have an impact on children.

She has been working in the field of early childhood education for the past 10 years. She is familiar with different teaching styles and is well versed with working with this age range. Through her vast experience, she was able to develop a great bond with children and understand how they all develop differently. She is keen on adapting her teaching style in order to work with a particular group. She has also developed a unique way of communicating with both students and parents.

Now that she is a part of Baumhaus, her aim is to share the joy of music with more children, with the knowledge that through music she can make a big impact on their development.

Lyn Banda

With an Associates Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Teacher Lyn has developed a sense of having a deep understanding of the needs and capabilities of children. She sees herself as a facilitator of learning. She aims to provide children a safe space whereby an exchange of ideas can be done without fear and judgement. By doing so, children will have the freedom to express and explore their ideas while collaborating with others.

She has been working in the Early Childhood field for 5 years and as an Early Childhood Educator, she believes in creating a stimulating learning environment, to help nurture the child's natural curiosity. Hence, she is always willing to go the extra mile to develop and expand her knowledge.

Teacher Lyn would like to be a model for young children in order to show them that one can be a lifelong learner.
